When you do not know what happened, orient before acting.
Orientation Brief is the reset door for the whole Life OS: 6 orientation steps, 8 safe commands, 10 map cards, 5 privacy boundaries, 6 do-not-open-yet rules, and 10 import captures. It is local-only, manual-only, and no-send.
Simple layer. Do not try to understand every artifact at once. Open the Orientation Brief, then START HERE, then choose one small proof gate. The goal is not total clarity; it is one verified next step.
The operator command calls work/life-os-orientation-brief.mjs and rewrites orientation-brief.md, orientation-brief.json, and orientation-import.json. It reads only already generated local Life OS JSON files.
Run the reset
node work/life-os.mjs orient # then open: outputs/life-os-command-center/orientation-brief.md outputs/life-os-command-center/START-HERE.md # stop after one proof gate
Use the map
6 orientation stepsStop, read the map, choose a proof gate, sell only with a real person, keep one agent unit, and close the journal.
8 safe commandsorient, start, now, session, sell, journal, status, and files.
10 map cardsCockpit, START HERE, Now Console, Guided Session, Journal, Revenue Session, Organizer, agents, company, and course.
Import into the cockpit
orientation-import.json contains 10 import captures, 1 project, 1 pipeline row, 1 content row, 4 learning rows, and 6 rhythm rows. Export the cockpit state before importing because localStorage is replaced.
Guardrails
The Orientation Brief does not send messages, post content, scrape, buy, run agents, open native apps, or touch Gmail/OAuth. It only tells you what exists and which manual action to take next.
